    Resumes, job hunts, cover letters, and even your c Resumes, job hunts, cover letters, and even your current job are all distraction actions. There is a reason why I’m a career coach that will never tell you how to format your resume, find a job, or write a cover letter. That might seem counterintuitive, but in my opinion, you don’t need help getting a job. What you need help with is trusting yourself so deeply that you can let go of your fears and quit that job that you’ve been wanting to leave for years now. Quitting a job to go all-in on a dream isn’t always rational, logical, safe, or realistic. It often goes against what society, parents, friends, coworkers, and corporate culture has taught you. You’re giving up a reliable paycheck, employer healthcare, and your well-earned spot on the corporate ladder. You’re risking failure and embracing uncertainty in pursuit of something greater. You’re facing every fear, insecurity, dysfunctional belief, and self-sabotaging patterns that have been keeping you stuck your entire life. You’re going to give up a lot of good but even more bad in order to build a resolve that keeps you motivated, resilient and courageous on your pathway to the career and business you want. When you decide to answer that call, you’re going to realize that everything you thought you needed to make that dream happen, had nothing to do with your resume or cover letter to begin with. It’s about becoming more of who you are. 🤘It’s about giving yourself radical permission to give yourself exactly what you want. ✌️It’s about trusting yourself to make decisions that other people may not understand. 👊It’s about betting on yourself every time and having your back no matter what. A resume will never create that level of belief in yourself. YOU create belief so unshakable, that you’ll be experiencing the pure satisfaction of finally handing in your two-week notice before you can say, “I quit.” 😌 If you’re ready to create confidence you need in order to go all in on your dream career or business, then let’s start a conversation. We’re experiencing The Great Resignation because Millennials are effin fed UP with this capitalism/Corporate America nonsense. They’re fed up with employers that… 🖕 don’t understand that they have a personal life. 🖕 Don’t consider their employee’s mental health and prioritize their needs. 🖕 Expect employees to work outside of normal work hours….and like it. 🖕 Expect work-life to return to pre-pandemic norms that were old and outdated in the first place. 🖕 Don’t allow the flexibility that accommodates and supports healthy work-life balance for employees. No one was happy with the corporate grind–except maybe the people for whom it was benefiting. (*cough cough* Jeff Bezos) The Pandemic has forced everyone into new ways of working…and we’re kind of diggin’ it. 🤘 Now that we’re working from home–we don’t want to go back to the office. 🤘 Now that we have more flexibility–we don’t want to go back to rigid office structures. 🤘 Now that we’ve been able to see what it’s like to let go of the corporate hustle–we don’t want to go back to it. And so workers are doing just that. Employers who can’t evolve with the needs and wants of talented people who know their worth? Thank you, next. The Pandemic has been a nightmare—but with every adversity comes new perspectives, and what I see is a movement of workers who are realizing that their time, freedom, and mental health is more than what their employers are willing to offer them. Sacrificing yourself for a company that only wants to squeeze every ounce of work out of you, is some pre-pandemic nonsense.     If you’re willing to give help but not ask for i If you’re willing to give help but not ask for it, you’re judging what it means to get help. Each time that you give help but never allow yourself to ask for it, you are inadvertently making a judgment call about what it means to receive help. And the problem is that it's only hurting your own progress. I don’t think it’s any surprise that we live in a pretty toxic and shamey society at times. For women, we must be perfect. And for men, they must not be perceived as weak. So when it comes to asking for a helping hand when you’re struggling, it can be difficult to ask for it. We all know that the struggle is real—but we ACT like it isn’t. We act as though we have it all together. But it’s all a facade. We get trapped in our own judgments because if we reveal the realness of what we’re struggling with, it means that we aren’t perfect. We don’t have it all together or figured out. That’s hard for women. We’ve been conditioned to believe that we MUST be perfect. And if we’re not…shame. My god, SO much shame. Unfortunately, shame is a negative feedback loop. It compels you to hide, which prevents you from seeking help, which inevitably keeps you stuck in the place you don’t want to be, which ultimately leads to more shame.     Do you judge people for asking for help? Do you ju Do you judge people for asking for help? Do you judge yourself for asking for help? Then why aren’t you asking for it? It’s one of the biggest ways we hurt our own growth in our careers or businesses. We don’t ask for help. We don’t ask because we think we need to look like we have it all together. Or we think we have to figure it out all by ourselves. And we think we need to do it all by ourselves. But you don’t have to figure it all out, do it all on your own, or pretend to “have it all together.” (Newsflash: literally no one has it all together. And if they say they do, they’re lying.) Help is a gift that we need to be open to asking for and receiving. Because it could be the difference between surviving and thriving.     Is this really the career and business I want? ⠀ Is this really the career and business I want? ⠀ I decided early this year that I needed to take a long hiatus from my business. ⠀ 2021 was chaotic, heartbreaking, beautiful, challenging, lighthearted, ugly, joyful…it was the complete human experience and it’s been intense. ⠀ Death is always such a wake-up call. ⠀ It makes you take stock of your entire life and ask, “Does this make me happy?” ⠀ “Is what I’m doing what I want to do?” ⠀ “If not, then why am I doing it?” I’m going to be completely honest…I’ve asked myself those questions a lot and I’ve had a lot of doubts about my own career and business. ⠀ Yes, me. A CAREER Coach doubting her own career. ⠀ But why shouldn’t I? Last I checked, there were no career gods etching our choices in eternal stone. ⠀ Questioning the career or business that you’ve worked so hard on can be scary. ⠀ What if what you want is the answer you’ve been avoiding? ⠀ Ya know, the riskier, more challenging, totally against the grain, “illogical,” or seemingly impossible answer, but also the one thing you know you want more than anything in the world that will make you more of who you want to be? ⠀ It’s incredibly easy to get complacent and ignore the nagging feeling of discontent. ⠀ But at some point you’re not going to be able to avoid it. ⠀ Something will barge into your life and slap you so awake that you just can’t let your life and career go unexamined any longer. ⠀ But I know and trust so deeply that times of self-examination will only ever lead us to become more of who we are. ⠀ You either let go of what isn’t in alignment with your values and life goals so that you can move in a direction that’s truer to what you want OR you recommit to your career and business with more love and determination. ⠀ Either way, you know that your career will be stronger and more resilient. ⠀ It’s not comfortable, it’s a little scary, but I want to invite you to embrace the discomfort and ask yourself, “Does this career make me happy?”⠀ ⠀ Does questioning your career or business scare you?
